Tenet Guilty of Perjury?

In an exclusive report, Washington Independent journalist Mark Levey this week told INN World Report what he believes is the reason CIA Director George Tenet suddenly resigned.

Under oath in April, Tenet repeatedly made false statements to the 9/11 Commission, claiming he never met with Bush in August of 2001. When confronted with the public record however, the CIA claimed their director "misspoke" and "forgot" meetings which took place during two trips to Crawford Texas on August 17th and 31st .

Yesterday, Levey told INN that there was a third meeting with Tenet, August 24th, that Bush himself made reference to in an interview.

This August 24th meeting came one day after the Al-Qaeda linked pilots who flew Flight 77 were placed on a CIA "watch-list".

Tenet may face perjury and possible criminal charges this July, when his resignation takes effect. At this time he will no longer be immune to prosecution under "Executive Privilege."

Levey also notes, that Vice President Cheney and President Bush hired top lawyers at the time that Tenet resigned.
